History

Biggar Youth Project was set up in 1996 as somewhere for young people in the town and surrounding area to have a space for informal activities.

BYP originally operated from the old High School building but following the closure of Biggar Mart as a result of the foot and mouth outbreak it acquired the Old Auction Ring on South Back Road as a dedicated home. The building was converted for use as a youth centre by volunteers and has been in BYP’s home ever since.
